MOBILIZING CITIZENS TO FIGHT FOR HEALTHCARE
David Eggen became the Minister of Education in Alberta’s NDP government in 2015. After a teaching career and a first term as an MLA, he joined Friends of Medicare as executive director in 2008, remaining in that post until his re-election as MLA in 2012. He encouraged citizens to mobilize to pressure the government to restore cutbacks and deliver on promises to build hospitals.
