What was it like to be a worker in boomtown Edmonton? A free, guided walking tour, about 2 km, looks at the economic and social conditions of the people who built our vibrant city. We will walk from the Downtown Milner Library to the top of Grierson Hill and back, and hear the stories of buildings and events that reflect the lives of working people.
Each participant will receive a free booklet “ALHI Tour of Edmonton Working Class Heritage Buildings” illustrated with archival photos that show sites and events along the route. October weather may be chilly or sunny. Remember to wear walking shoes and appropriate clothing. Tour guide: Cathy Roy
Sunday October 18 10-11:30 am. Meet outdoors, on the north plaza of the Downtown (Milner) Edmonton Public Library, facing the LRT tracks. The tour starts and ends at this spot.
