Profile: Jenn Fox was born in Edmonton. Her family moved to Rimbey and then Leduc. After her electrician father died in a work accident, the family moved to Lethbridge. She completed a Bachelor of Social Work via a combination of the University of Calgary and the University of Lethbridge while raising two children. She served as a social worker from 2005 to 2014, working with homeless people, many of whom were Indigenous people suffering from Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) and substance abuse. “A lot of them had come from the foster system, and the system kind of failed them along the way.” Seeking a change of occupation from that mentally stressful work, she earned an Agricultural Science diploma in 2015 from Lethbridge College. Afterwards, she was employed by Agricultural Financial Services Corporation (AFSC) to do plant counts and check hail damage for insurance purposes. At the time of the interview, she was working out of the Claresholm office of AFSC as a relationship manager of insurance. She is also heavily involved with her family in ranching.
