Lou Broten was a long-time president of the Edmonton local of the International Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen.
Bill Danyk was a lifelong Edmonton railway worker who was active first in the International Association of Machinists and later in the Canadian Brotherhood of Railway Transport and General Workers from 1943 to 1980.
Walter Doskoch, son of a blue-collar Edmonton Communist labour organizer, became a militant blue-collar Edmonton Communist labour organizer himself. His parents were Ukrainian immigrants from the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
