Profile: Bertram Leslie arrived as a heavy duty mechanic in Edmonton in 1967 from his native Barbados.  He contacted Immigration, legalized his stay, and set out to find employment. He worked at many different jobs and later found employment through Local 955 on an Albian Sands project in Muskeg River.  He adapted to the routines of shift work, a weekly commute to Fort McMurray, and separation from his family, and camp life.  Leslie placed a strong emphasis on safe work.  His continuing employment involved maintenance of heavy equipment.
